Featured Artist - Betty M. Thompson

Betty was born in Minnesota, raised in South Dakota and has lived in California, Kansas, Washington and currently resides in Boise, Idaho.  She received formal training from three different institutes: Drake University, Northern States Teachers College and Kansas State College.  Working for the Extension Service in Brookings, South Dakota, Betty developed her unique airbrush techniques.  She was hired as the art director of a printing/publishing company.  In this position she focused on layouts, letterhead designs, fashion illustrations and commercial advertising for a number of newspapers and magazines.  In addition she has illustrated several children’s books and educational literature.  Over the years Betty had turned her interest to Fine Art and though experienced with airbrush, pen and ink, charcoal and pastel drawings, Betty’s favorite media includes acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings.  She is equally comfortable painting portraits, landscapes and still life subjects.  Betty has won several awards and sold multiple paintings to private collectors and individuals worldwide.
